Kirchberg de Ribeauvillé

One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. The commune of Ribeauvillé is therefore included in the name to distinguish it from the Kirchberg de Barr site. It was already mentioned in 1328 as a special vineyard. It covers 12 hectares of vines on stony ground made of sandstone, marl and shell limestone. Here the varieties Riesling, Muscat Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris are cultivated. Well-known producers are Robert Faller, André Kientzler, Jean Sipp and Louis Sipp.
