The white grape variety originates from Georgia. Synonyms are Kharistvala Meskhouri and Meskhuri Kharistvala. Nothing is known about the ancestry (parentage) and a genetic relationship to the red variety Kharistvala Kolkhuri. It is a purely female grape variety. It is cultivated in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region in the south, where it is used as a grape variety and table grape. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
