The "Rotweingut Maria Kerschbaum" is located in the municipality of Lackenbach in the Austrian DAC area of Central Burgenland. It is managed by Maria Kerschbaum and her son David. The vineyards comprise 20 hectares of vines (of which four hectares are leased) in the nearby community of Horitschon in the Breitgeres, Dürrau, Gfanger and Hochäcker vineyards. They are exclusively planted with red wine varieties. These are Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The cultivation is oriented towards yield-reducing, quality-enhancing measures. The premium wines include the two Mittelburgenland DAC wines "Blaufränkisch Reserve Dürrau" and "David's Show-Reserve" (Blaufränkisch), aged for 30 months in barrique, as well as the "Women" cuvée (Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon), aged for 18 months in barrique. About 60,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The wines are exported to Great Britain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. The winery is a member of the Association Blaufränkischland Mittelburgenland.
