The winery is located in the municipality of Salurn/Salorno in the Italian wine-growing area of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige region). It was founded in 1948 by Alfred Ceolan. In 1982 Walter Ceolan took over his parents' business. For a while he was affiliated with a winery cooperative before he was fully taken over again in 2004 and is now managed by Dietrich Ceolan. In the wine tavern "Dürer Schänke", named after the painter Albrecht Dürer, all wines can be tasted and bought. The vineyards cover an area of three hectares. They are planted with the red wine varieties Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as the white wine varieties Ruländer and Chardonnay. The product range includes various DOC wines South Tyrolean and IGT wines. Premium wines are the red wine cuvée "Thor" (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon), the varietal "Merlot" and the white wine "Ruländer". About 30,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the Association of Free Winegrowers South Tyrol.
