The winery is located in the municipality of Neustadt-Haardt (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region of the Palatinate. On December 9, 1600, Kaspar Kaub, imperial master chef at the Hofburg in Prague, received a gift from Emperor Rudolf II. (1552-1612) for his excellent cooking skills. This coat of arms is still worn by the Kaub family, which is demonstrably connected with viticulture in Haardt just a few years later, to this day. Today the family winery is managed by Karl-Heinz Kaub. The vineyards cover five hectares in the locations Bürgergarten, Herrenletten, Herzog and Mandelring (Haardt), as well as Eselshaut (Mußbach). They are planted to 60% with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rieslaner, Scheurebe and Gewürztraminer, and to 40% with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), Acolon, St. Laurent, Cabernet Mitos and Dunkelfelder.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
