Popular name (also kangaroo climate) for the climbing plant "Cissus antarctica", which is native to Queensland and New South Wales in South Australia. The climbing plant grows to a height of 15 metres up to the crowns of the rainforest trees and then hangs down like a liana. It belongs to the Vitaceae family (see under vine system) and is one of the species of wild vine. The non frost hardy plant is very popular in Europe because of its decorative, bright green leaves with serrated edges and is used as an ornamental vine or as an indoor plant. The light green flowers arranged in umbels develop fleshy, blue-black berries that are rather inedible. Nevertheless, in the past a "red wine" was also made from them.
