The red grape variety comes from Albania and is named after the community of the same name. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. There is the assumption that it is the original variety of the Hungarian Kadarka. It is an all-female grape variety. In 2010 no stock was reported (Kym Anderson). There is also a variety called Kallmet Bukmire; nothing is known about a possible relationship.
