Kalkgasse

single vineyard in the municipality of Bensheim in the German wine-growing region of Hessische Bergstrasse. The south to southwest facing vineyards at 130 to 220 metres above sea level with slopes of up to 30% cover 13 hectares of vineyards. The soils consist of shallow granite weathering with a thin layer of soil and limestone rocks underneath. Riesling, Dornfelder and Pinot Gris are cultivated here. Shares are held, for example, by the Bergstrasse winegrowers and the Hessian State Wine Estates (Domaine Bergstrasse).
