single vineyard in the municipality of Bensheim in the German wine-growing region of Hessische Bergstrasse. The south to southwest facing vineyards at 130 to 220 metres above sea level with slopes of up to 30% cover 13 hectares of vineyards. The soils consist of shallow granite weathering with a thin layer of soil and limestone rocks underneath. The varieties Riesling, Dornfelder and Pinot Gris are cultivated here. The Bergsträßer Winzer, Griesel & Compagnie and Hessische Staatsweingüter (Domaine Bergstraße), for example, have shares in the site.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
