The red grape variety originates from Greece. Synonyms are Dourou Kara, Kalabaki, Kalambaki, Kalampaki, Lembiotiko, Lemnia, Lemnio, Lemniotico, Lemniotiko, Limnia, Limniona, Limniotico, Limniotiko and Mavro Limnio.
