The Kahlenberg is a 484 metre high elevation in the 19th district of Döbling in the Austrian capital Vienna, which is defined as a wine-growing area. During the second Turkish siege in 1683, the city was liberated from the Entsatzhee from here, which is commemorated by the Josefskirche. He gave the Viennese Großlage the name.

The Großlage Kahlenberg comprises the vineyards of the Döbling cadastral municipalities of Kahlenbergerdorf and Josefsdorf. These were independent municipalities until 1891. They extend between 170 and 390 metres above sea level. Kahlenbergerdorf was established around 1100, while the village of Calen already existed around 800 AD.
