Abbreviation for the huge Californian wine production multinational Kendall-Jackson; see there.

The US wine multinational was founded by the lawyer Jess Stonestreet Jackson (1930-2011). The rapid rise of the company corresponds exactly to the American cliché "from dishwasher to billionaire". Jackson, who grew up in poor circumstances, tried his hand at various professions during his studies, including working as a postman, dock worker, policeman, ambulance driver and lifeguard, before graduating in law and then working in real estate law. In 1974, he bought a 32-hectare fruit ranch in the small town of Lakeport (Lake County, in the North Coast region) in California and planted vines there. Kendall was the maiden name of his then wife. In his second marriage, Jackson was married to Barbara Banke, who after his death runs the now huge company together with son-in-law Don Hartford....
