The "Weingut Jurtschitsch Sonnhof" is located in the winegrowing town of Langenlois in the winegrowing region of Kamptal in Lower Austria. The former harvest farm dates back to the 16th century, the cellar even to the 14th century. The current estate was founded in 1868, and in 2000 a new terrace cellar with a modern press house was put into operation. Between 1972 and 2009 the estate was run by the brothers Edwin, Paul and Karl Jurtschitsch. Since 2009, Edwin's son Alwin Jurtschitsch (managing director) and his wife Stefanie (cellar master together with Ewald Tiefenböck) have taken over responsibility. The vineyards cover 62 hectares in the Dechant, Käferberg, Lamm, Loiserberg, Schenkenbichl, Tanzer and Zöbinger Heiligenstein vineyards. They are planted with 75% white wine varieties such as Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, and 25% red wine varieties such as Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and others. Since 2009, the vineyards have been cultivated according to the guidelines of organic viticulture.
