The "Weingut Jurtschitsch Sonnhof" is located in the wine-growing town of Langenlois in the Kamptal wine growing region of Lower Austria. The former vintage yard dates from the 16th century, the cellar even from the 14th century. The current winery was founded in 1868 and in 2000 a new terrace cellar with a modern press house was put into operation. Between 1972 and 2009 the estate was managed by the brothers Edwin, Paul and Karl Jurtschitsch. Since 2009 Edwin's son Alwin Jurtschitsch (managing director) and his wife Stefanie (cellar master together with Ewald Tiefenböck) have taken over the responsibility. The vineyards comprise 62 hectares of vineyards in the areas Dechant, Käferberg, Lamm, Loiserberg, Schenkenbichl, Tanzer and Zöbinger Heiligenstein. They are planted to 75% with white wine varieties such as Veltliner, Riesling and Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and 25% with red wine varieties such as Zweigelt and Pinot Noir and other varieties. Since 2009, the vineyards have been cultivated according to the guidelines of organic viticulture.

The fermentation of the white site wines is carried out with the vineyard's own yeasts in large wooden barrels made of Austrian oak. The vinification is carried out using traditional, particularly gentle oenological methods. The red wines are aged in new or used barriques made of French Allier oak. In some cases, before bottling, the wine is reassembled in large oak barrels over 50 years old. Among the premium wines are Grüner Veltliner and Rieslings from different sites, which are produced as Kamptal DAC and Kamptal DAC Reserve. For more than two decades, the "GrüVe" (Grüner Veltliner) has been a "bestseller", for which the famous painter Christian Ludwig Attersee redesigns the bottle label every year. A speciality is the red wine cuvée Rotspon. The winery is a member of the Traditionsweingüter Österreich.
