The winery in the municipality of Erbach is located in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. It has been in the family since 1799. After the early death of his father, Ludwig Jung joined the business in 1969 and took over the winery from his mother in 1974 after completing his master vintner's examination, which he managed responsibly until 2007. After years of practical experience at the Bercher winery (Baden) and Kaapzicht (Stellenbosch, South Africa), as well as completing his viticulture studies as a graduate engineer in Geisenheim, son Alexander Johannes Jung is responsible for vinification as the farm manager. He is supported by his father in the care of the vineyards. In recent years, the winery has been significantly expanded through the purchase of additional land. This includes a more than 250-year-old rock cellar with a total length of 110 metres, which is located eight metres underground and offers ideal conditions for ageing and storage
