The winery is located in the municipality of Gundheim (Wonnegau area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. It was founded in 1926 as a farm. Today it is run by Georg Julius, the third generation of the family to do so. The vineyards cover 19 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Klausenberg (Abenheim), Sauloch (Dalsheim), Hasenlauf and Seilgarten (Bermersheim), Morstein and Rotenstein (Westhofen), Frauenberg (Flörsheim), as well as Hungerbiene, Mandelbrunnen and Sonnenberg (Gundheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Scheurebe, Sauvignon Blanc and Goldmuskateller, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Merlot and St. Laurent. Certified organic viticulture has been practised since 2010. This is done according to the rules of the organic association Naturland, of which the winery is a member.
