Measure of area (also iugerum) in ancient Rome that corresponded to a rectangle 240 Roman feet long and 120 feet wide (about 71 × 35½ m), i.e. 2,520 m², or about a quarter of an acre. The German term Joch was derived from this. The area measure acre also had a similar size. See also under area measures and hollow measures.
