Judge Vincenz

The winery is located in the municipality of Meißen in the German wine growing region of Saxony. The family business was founded in 1873 by Vincenz Anton Richter. Today it is managed in the fourth generation by Thomas Herrlich. The vineyards comprise eight hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Kapitelberg (Meissen) and Gellertberg (Weinböhla). Almost 90% of them are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (50%), Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Kerner, Scheurebe, Traminer, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, the rest with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Cabernet Dorsa. Environmentally friendly viticulture is practised consistently. The yield is strictly limited. The wines are marketed in the Lagenweine (Rieslings vom Kapitelberg) and Gutswein lines. In suitable years an ice wine is also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
