Jubileum 75

The white grape variety is a new variety between Kövidinka x Savagnin Blanc (Traminer). Synonyms are Jubiläum 75, Jubilejni 75, K 11, Kecskemét 11 and Miklostelep 11. DNA analyses carried out in 2012 revealed that the parentage Ezerjó x Pinot Gris given in the breeding list was wrong (however, this is based on only 19 DNA markers; see Molecular genetics). The cross was made in Hungary in 1951 by two private breeders, András Kurucz and István Kwaysser. The late-ripening, red-berried vine is sensitive to frost. It produces rich white wines with moderate acidity. It is cultivated on Lake Balaton and in the Csongrád and Kunság areas. In 2016, a total of 91 hectares of vineyards were reported, with a strong downward trend (Kym Anderson statistics).
