The winery is located in the municipality of Ürzig (Bernkastel area) in the German Mosel
wine region. The Christoffel family has been growing wine here for more than 400 years. The manor house is a beautifully renovated half-timbered house from the 17th century. Under the grandfather of the current owner Hans Leo Christoffel, the estate acquired a widespread reputation as one of the best producers of classic Moselle Rieslings. Since 2001, the vineyards have been leased to Robert Eymael from the Mönchhof Robert Eymael
Winery. The wines are aged in a closed part of the estate. However, Hans Leo Christoffel is still active with his council. The vineyards comprise 3.5 hectares of vines in the Treppchen
(Erden) and Würzgarten
(Ürzig) sites. They are planted exclusively with Riesling vines, some of which are over 100 years old. The winery is a member of the VDP
(Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
