single vineyard in the municipality of Pesterwitz in the German wine-growing region of Saxony. The south-facing rather flat vineyard with a slope of 5 to 10% covers nine hectares of vineyards in the valley of the Elbe tributary Weißeritz. The deep sandstone weathered soils are interspersed with layers of clay. The vineyards were newly planted or reactivated in 1986 and taken over from the Pesterwitz estate in 1998. The white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Goldriesling, Solaris and Helios are cultivated here, as well as the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Regent and Pinot Noir.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
