The red grape variety (also Ju Feng Noir) is an interspecific new breeding between Kyoho x Jixiang. The father variety is a mutation of Bai Xiang Qiao, the common name for the Triumph variety in China. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1973 at the Dalian Institute in China. The variety is widely cultivated in China as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
