Jaunegg Daniel

The winery is located in the municipality of Eichberg-Trautenburg (Leutschach) in the Austrian wine-growing region of Southern Styria. A guest house is attached. Since 2002, the estate has been managed by Daniel Jaunegg and is supported by his parents Johann and Johanna. In 2004, a new winery was opened near the parental headquarters. The vineyards comprise eight hectares of vines in the Knily and Schlossberg areas. They are planted with the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Gelber Muskateller, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt and Blauer Wildbacher. The wines are produced in the lines "Klassik" (Styrian style - fresh, fruity, dry), and "Lagen" (terroir-stressed wines) with long storage on the yeast. Only in special vintages there are wines with the designation "Muri" from the best harvest of a year. Depending on the type of wine, ageing takes place in steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barriques. Certain wines are also bottled in magnum bottles. Fine brandies are also produced.
