The white grape variety is a new cross between Gloria Hungaria x Cardinal. The cross was made in 1964 in France by the French ampelographer Paul Truel (1924-2014) on behalf of INRA in Montpellier. It is mainly used as table grape. Small cultivation areas exist in the south of France in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. In 2016, 5 hectares of vines were identified (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
