The white grape variety is a new variety between Pozsonyi x Csaba Gyöngye. Synonyms grouped alphabetically by country are Early Ripening Golden Grape (England); Muscat Oliver (Germany, Croatia, Switzerland); Zolotis, Zolotisti Ranij, Zolotistyi Rannii, Zolotistyi Ranniy (Russia); Tezyetisen Qizili Üzüm (Turkey); Aranylo, Aranylo Korai, Irsai Muskotaly, Irsay Olivér, Irsai Olivér Muskotaly, Irsay Olivér Muskotaly, Olivér Irsay (Hungary). The cross was made in 1930 in Kecskemét (Hungary) by the breeder Pál Kocsis. Plant variety protection was granted in 1975. It was a crossing partner of the new varieties Agni, Cserszegi Fűszeres, Korona (1), Lena, Orpheus, Szirén and Zlata. The early-maturing vine is sensitive to winter frost, susceptible to powdery mildew and mite infestation, but resistant to botrytis. It yields golden-yellow, aromatic white wines with muscat tones for rather quick consumption, which are suitable for sparkling wine production. The variety is also used as table grape. In Hungary, it is mainly cultivated in the regions of Balaton (Lake Balaton ) and Sopron on 1,531 hectares. There are further areas in Moldova (180 ha), Russia (24 ha), Slovakia, Switzerland (7 ha), South Africa (48 ha) and the Czech Republic. In 2016, a total of 1,790 hectares of vineyards were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
