International Wine Review

The monthly US wine magazine or wine guide was founded in 2005 to provide the wine trade (importers, wholesalers, retailers), sommeliers and consumers with up-to-date information about important wines and regions of the world. In addition to wines, the magazine explains winemaking methods, wine styles and winemaking areas, and gives tips on matching wine with food. Furthermore, the results of the quality evaluations of the Beverage Testing Institute are also published here. Mike Potashnik, wine author and wine critic, is the editor-in-chief and Don Winkler, a graduate economist, is the editor-in-chief. One focus is on tasting notes from an experienced core team of wine critics. They taste an average of 200 wines a month, i.e. per issue. Permanent members of the tasting team are Joel Butler and Jay Youmans, both Masters of Wine, in addition to the two above-mentioned Joel Butler and Jay Youmans. Additionally, specialists from the trade are always invited. The wine evaluation is based on the 100-point system, whereby wines with 84 points or less are no longer recommended.
