The "Hutter - Silberbichlerhof" winery is located in the municipality of Mautern in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. Its beginnings go back to the year 1748 (Michael Hutter, winegrower in Stratzing). A wine tavern is attached. The farm is run in the 7th family generation by Fritz III and Elfriede Hutter, who are supported by their two sons Fritz IV and Richard. The land is historic, as the watchtowers of the Roman settlement of Favianis once stood on the site of the farm building. The first traces are dated 69 AD, and the settlement existed until the 5th century. It was traditional for the Romans to plant vines they had brought with them to their conquered provinces and to cultivate vines.
