The winery is located in the municipality of Nierstein-Schwabsburg (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The traditional Huff family has been growing grapes here for 300 years. The Huff family, rich in tradition, has been cultivating vines here for 300 years. Today, graduate oenologist Christine Huff and her New Zealand husband Jeremy Bird-Huff are responsible for vinification. Master winemaker Ekkehard Huff works in the vineyard and workshop. Doris Huff looks after the well-being of the customers.
The vineyards cover eight hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Orbel, Paterberg, Pettenthal and Schloss Schwabsburg with the prime piece Rabenturm (Nierstein). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner, Scheurebe and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and St. Laurent. The near-natural cultivation with a lot of manual labour is carried out, among other things, with 'complete renunciation of mineral fertilisers and herbicides.
