Homoclimates

Designation for areas or zones with almost the same climate, which can often also be located on the other half of the earth. This can be determined with the help of climate diagrams by superimposing them. At the time of colonisation, attempts were made in areas of the New World to find equivalent areas for classic French wine-growing regions in particular and then to plant new vineyards there, ideally with the same grape varieties. See also under vineyard development plan.
