The traditional winery is located in the municipality of Nussdorf south of Krems in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Traisental. The family has been growing grapes since 1838. Today it is run by Alfred Holzer and his son Andreas. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in, for example, the Riede Steinbühl. They are 70% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Grauburgunder, and 30% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger, Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way. Quality criteria are high foliage walls, yield reduction and an optimally chosen harvest time. The premium wines include Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Traisental DAC and Traisental DAC Reserve, as well as the red wine cuvée "Quercus" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt) aged in barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, frizzante and noble brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the Traisentaler Weingärtner association.
