Hogshead

Anglo-American measure or cask type (German: Schweinskopf) with a volume of 238.67 litres in England and 238.48 litres in the USA. A hogshead consists of two barrels and corresponds to half a pipe and a quarter of a tun. In Europe, this corresponds to the old unit oxhoft. See also under Hollow Measurements and Cask Types.
