Herzogenberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Untertürkheim (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German growing region of Württemberg. From here, there is a beautiful panoramic view of the Neckar valley and the nearby state capital Stuttgart. The name refers to the former cultivation by the Dukes of Württemberg with their nearby ancestral seat. It is adjacent to the Gips vineyard. The vineyards, which face west to south at an altitude of 270 to 290 metres above sea level with a slope of 0 to 25%, cover around 16 hectares of vineyards. The moderately skeltt-rich sites consist of Keuper with gypsum deposits and partly loam and marl. Here, mainly the varieties Riesling, Lemberger, Trollinger and Spätburgunder are cultivated. The site is solely owned by the Wöhrwag winery.
