single vineyard in the municipality of Bickensohl (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The southeast-, south- and southwest-facing vineyards lie at 200 to 400 metres above sea level with soils of mostly loess-covered volcanic rock. It extends along the Bickensohl village centre up to the forest edge of the Totenkopf (557 m). The climatic conditions are characterised by an alternation of warm sunny days and cool nights due to the wind exposure. Shares in the site are held, for example, by winegrowers from the Bickensohler winegrowers' cooperative and the Holger Koch winery.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
