The winery is located in the municipality of Markt Harmannsdorf in the Austrian wine-growing region of Vulkanland Steiermark. It used to be a former estate of the canons of Vorau Abbey. The property was acquired by the Lamprecht family in 1913. After an eventful history with several owners, the estate came to a standstill. In 2006, it was reactivated by the Lamprecht family and new vines were planted. The estate is run by Gottfried Lamprecht. Various events such as wine tastings, culinary events and vineyard walks are also organised in the renovated old wine cellar.

The vineyards cover nine hectares of vines in the Buchertberg vineyard. The red wine varieties Blaufränkisch and Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir), as well as the white wine varieties Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Furmint, Sauvignon Blanc and, as a speciality, a Styrian blend with over 70 rare and ancient grape varieties are cultivated here. These include Adelfränkisch (a Traminer descendant), Blauer Heunisch (a variety of Gouais Blanc) and Weißer Orléans. Certified organic viticulture is practised. This includes not using herbicides, synthetic pesticides and synthetic fertilisers.
