Herrenberger

single vineyard in the municipality of Wawern (Saar area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The south-facing vineyard at 220 metres above sea level with a slope of 40% covers 3.7 hectares of vineyards with optimal exposure (sunlight). The rock-rich, slightly weathered grey slate soil with a fairly high clay content has a good water retention capacity for this reason. Only the Riesling variety is cultivated here. The monopollage was formerly owned by the Dr. Fischer winery (Ockfen-Wawern) and has since been sold to the Othegraven winery (Kanzem).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
