Hengst

One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. The vineyards cover 76 hectares in the commune of Wintzenheim. They are planted with the four "noble varieties" Gewürztraminer, Muscat Blanc, Pinot Gris and Riesling, but also with other varieties not approved for Grand Cru, such as Auxerrois, Chasselas and Pinot Blanc. Well known producers are Paul Buecher, Domaine André Ehrhart, Henri Ehrhart, Josmeyer, Albert Mann, Moellinger, Wunsch & Mann and Domaine Zind Humbrecht.
