The winery is located in Döbling, the 19th district of Wien, in the famous district of Grinzing. The Hengl family has been growing wine since the 16th century; Haselbrunner is the house name. Father Ferdinand Hengl is one of the "old hands" of wine, and since 2005 the business has been run by his son Matthias Hengl. A wine tavern is attached as a member of the "Chaine des Roitisseurs". The vineyards cover 13 hectares in the Hungerberg, Purgstall, Reisenberg, Schenkenberg and Schlegl vineyards (some of which are part of the Großlage Nußberg vineyard). They are 75% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Gemischter Satz, the rest with the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are cultivated according to the guidelines of integrated viticulture. The premium wines include Riesling Nußberg, the red wine cuvée Charlotte (CS, Zweigelt), Chardonnay Barrique Schlegel and Pinot Blanc Hungerberg. Around 15,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
