Heiss Franz

The winery is located in the municipality of Illmitz in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee. A guest house is attached. The estate is managed by Franz and Maria Heiss. The vineyards cover 9.5 hectares of vines in mostly the Römerstein reed. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Traminer, Bouvier, Muskat-Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc and Sämling 88, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon. The cultivation is carried out according to the KIP rules (Controlled Integrated Production) with careful soil care. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in barriques. The premium wines include, for example, the red wine cuvée "Commodus" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt, Merlot), Zweigelt Selection and Prädikatsweine from different varieties from Beerenauslese to Eiswein in red and white.
