The winery is located in the municipality of Boppard in the German wine-growing region of the Middle Rhine. It is run by Rudolf and Susanne Schoeneberger. Since 2004, they have been assisted by their son Jonas after his training as a viticultural technician. Guest rooms are also offered. Attached is Boppard's oldest wine tavern with a garden restaurant called "Heilig Grab" (Holy Grave), which has been in the family for more than 200 years. The original name derives from an incident related to the custom of visiting and praying at the "Holy Sepulchre" (a cross laid on the floor) in the Carmelite monastery church in Boppard on Good Friday. Once again, the traditional walk of the men to the church after work took place on Good Friday. The women of Boppard found it strange that this time their husbands arrived very late for supper. When asked about the whereabouts of their husbands, they answered as agreed: " Well, at the Holy Sepulchre! One can pray a little longer for once". It soon turned out, however, that the visit to the "Holy Sepulchre" had only been short, but that the so-called "prayer" in a nearby wine tavern, which from then on received this name, had been all the longer.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
