The winery is located in the municipality of Waldböckelheim in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. The wine-growing and gastronomic tradition of the Hehner-Kiltz family from Waldböckelheim dates back to around 1800. The family's ancestral home was built in 1819 by Johann Georg Kiltz. Walter, Manuela and Tanja Hehner run the winery, which has been in operation since 1995 after taking over the Beck winery in Meddersheim. Helmut Hehner is in charge of the restaurant and hotel in Waldböckelheim. The vineyards cover over 18 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards Halenberg (Monzingen), Altenberg, Edelberg and Rheingrafenberg (Meddersheim), Felsenberg, Königsfels and Kupfergrube (Schlossböckelheim), as well as Kronenfels and Mühlberg (Waldböckelheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Blauer Portugieser and Dornfelder. In years with suitable weather conditions, ice wines are also pressed. Fine brandies (yeast, wine), grape liqueurs and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
