Heggies

The "Heggies Vineyard Estate" in the Eden Valley area (Barossa, South Australia) was founded by Colin Heggie in 1971, the first vines were planted in 1973 and the first wine was produced in 1979. In the 1990s Heggies was bought by Yalumba. The vineyards with 120 hectares of vines are situated at 550 metres above sea level and are among the highest in Australia. From the varieties Chardonnay, Merlot, Riesling and Viognier, mainly varietal wines are pressed.
