Heggenberger

The winery is located in the municipality of Tattendorf in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Thermenregion. It was founded in 1932 by Jakob Skarics. Since 1995 it has been managed by his grandson Andreas Heggenberger and his wife Sigrid. A "Buschenschank" is attached. A structural reorganisation of the business was completed in 2005. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vines. They are planted to 80% with the red wine varieties St. Laurent, Pinot noir, Blauburger, Blauer Portugieser and Zweigelt, and 20% with the white wine varieties Weißburgunder, Grüner Veltliner, Rivaner and Riesling. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural way. The varieties St. Laurent, Blauburger and Pinot Noir are vinified classically and in barriques. The premium wines are the red wine cuvée Rebenspiel Barrique (St. Laurent, Blauburger), St. Laurent Reserve and Pinot Noir Reserve. The winery is a member of the Burgundermacher winegrowers' association.
