The white grape variety (also Freiburg 207-70) is a complex new breed between (SV 12-375 = Villard Blanc x (Pinot Gris x Chasselas Blanc)) x ((Silvaner x Chasselas Blanc) x Madeleine Royale). The crossbreeding took place in 1970 by Dr. Johannes Zimmermann (1907-1998) at the State Wine Institute Freiburg (Baden-Württemberg). The medium-early ripening, high-yielding variety is very resistant to frost and fungal diseases. The versatile vine is used as wine grape, table grape and ornamental vine. In 2016, no stocks were reported (Kym Anderson).
