Large winery and trading company with its headquarters in Athens in the central Greek province of Attica. The emblem of the "Domaine Hatzimichalis" is a turkey (Turkey). The vineyards cover about 180 hectares of vines. They are located in the Atalante Valley near Mount Parnassos near the Bay of Euboei. The international varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah are cultivated, as well as the indigenous varieties Limnio, Robola, Roditis, Savatiano and Xynomavro. The owner Dimitris Hatzimichalis brought out the first Cabernet Sauvignon in 1982. After his own research he is convinced that this variety is descended from the Kapnias (meaning "smoked") variety already mentioned by the philosopher Aristotle (384-322 B.C.). The deep red country wine called "Kapnias" matures for 20 months in barrique barrels and can be stored for up to ten years.
