Happacherhof

The winery is located in the municipality of Auer (Ora) in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige region). The origin goes back to the early 17th century. The name derives from a former owner family Happacher. After an eventful history, the 16 or so large estate was purchased by the South Tyrolean provincial government in 1983 and made available to the secondary school for agriculture in Ora as a practice farm. The director is Dr. Franz Tutzer, the cellar master is Bernhard Pichler. All South Tyrolean grape varieties are managed in a variety quarter, and the various common forms of education are also found here. The varieties Merlot, Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are grown on a larger scale on four hectares. The Lagrein vineyard is cultivated according to Bioland guidelines and is certified accordingly. The remaining area is cultivated according to the KIP/IP criteria(integrated plant protection). The wines are produced as DOC South Tyrolean.
