Rather negative or pejorative term for the unpleasant taste of a wine when it is more pronounced, in the context of a wine address or wine evaluation. The word has somewhat different meanings in German-speaking countries. In Bavaria and north-eastern Austria it tends to mean bitter, in other regions sharp or cutting or also sour, although all these adjectives are often used together. In the context of characterising a person, it is understood to mean unfriendly, rude or sharp (sharp tone).
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
