Hanten Christa

The Austrian wine expert Dr Christa Hanten (*1954) was born in the , grew up in and was schooled in , so in her own words "the connection to wine was pre-programmed". Her studies of German language and literature and economic history at the university Wien were completed with a dissertation on organisation and marketing in viticulture. After "wandering years" in libraries and publishing houses, the decision was made in 1993 to become self-employed, with a focus on text and media design in the (wine)culinary field. Christa Hanten works as a specialist editor, writer and . After many years on the jury, she now works for Best of Riesling and in her special field of (e.g. jury member for the International Organic Wine Award).
