Hamburg Wine Salon

The event developed from a special show at the now defunct Hamburg Wine Fair and was one of the first premium wine shows based on the American model. It was organized from 1993 onwards by the German wine journalist and author Mario Scheuermann (1948-2015). From 1997 it was held twice a year in the stock exchange halls of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Between 100 and 120 wine producers from Germany and Austria always took part. In addition, there were changing special shows depending on the concept, such as Portugal, Switzerland, Spain and overseas. The "Grand Prix d'Honneur" was awarded for the best wines.
