The "W. Haidle" winery is located in the municipality of Kernen-Stetten (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It was founded in 1953 with a focus on vine refinement. When the estate was taken over by the couple Wolfgang and Susanne Haidle in 1994, the focus shifted to viticulture. The vineyards cover six hectares of vines at single vineyard Pulvermächer. They are 60% planted with the red wine varieties Trollinger (Schiava Grossa), Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Zweigelt, Samtrot, Dornfelder, Merlot and Regent, and 40% with the white wine varieties Riesling, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Silvaner and Gewürztraminer. After mash fermentation, the red wines are matured in barriques and the white wines in stainless steel tanks. In years with favourable weather conditions, an ice wine is also produced. A marc brandy is also produced.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
