The "Karl Haidle" winery is located in the municipality of Kernen-Stetten (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. Hans Haidle took over the business from his father in 1968 and increased the estate from one hectare to its current size. In 1993, a new winery building was put into operation. Today, the business is run by Moritz Haidle, the third generation of the family to do so. The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Häder, Lindhälder, Mönchberg and Pulvermächer (Stetten), Altenberg, Burghalde and Sonnenberg (Schnait), as well as Nonnenberg (Strümpfelbach). The best plots are located in the central, partly terraced section of the single vineyard Stettener Pulvermächer, which rises directly behind the winery building. The white wine varieties Riesling (7 ha) and Kerner, as well as the red wine varieties Trollinger, Pinot Noir, Lemberger and Zweigelt are cultivated. The cultivation is currently being converted to organic viticulture (status 2015). The best Lemberger, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder and Zweigelt are matured in barriques made of French, Swabian and Spessart oak. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the VDP and the German Barrique Forum.
