The winery is located in the municipality of Brauneberg (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine region. The traditional family Haag has been resident here since 1500. After the early death of his father, Marcus Haag, a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences Geisenheim and grandson of the founder Willi Haag, took over the responsibility for the winery in 1997. The vineyards, 95% of which are planted on steep slopes, comprise six hectares of vines, mostly in the Brauneberg top locations Juffer and Juffer Sonnenuhr. They are exclusively planted with Riesling. The wines from the municipalities of Burgen, Mülheim and Veldenz are marketed as estate Riesling. Two thirds of the production volume is exported. This results in the high proportion of 80% of residual sweet wines. 10% each are produced dry and semi-dry. In order to satisfy lovers of both styles, the Rieslings are alternately fermented spontaneously or with pure yeasts, which leads to different expressions in the bouquets of the wines. The winery is a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
