The winery is located in the municipality of Krems-Rehberg in the Kremstal wine-growing region of Lower Austria. It has been in the family for over 200 years. The farm is run by Anton and Ulrike Hagen. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vines in the Kremsleithen, Pfaffenberg, Sandgrube, Thurnerberg and Weinzierlberg vineyards. They are 90% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (two thirds of the total area), Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Rivaner, the rest with Zweigelt. Anton Hagen selected and propagated the Grüner-Veltliner type from 45- to 75-year-old vineyards that has proven best on this soil, which consists mainly of loess. Natural viticulture is consistently practised. Quality criteria are short pruning, careful foliage management and selective harvesting. The white wines are matured in steel tanks. The premium wines include various Grüner Veltliners and Rieslings Kremstal DAC and Kremstal DAC Reserve. The winery is a member of the two winegrowers' associations Original Kremser Wein and Kremstaler Convent.
